LG Optimus Vu

The phablets are here to stay, and that is pretty much crystal clear. The Samsung Galaxy Note II still pretty much leads the way in terms of performance and the overall premium feel of the package. But the others are not to be ignored!

Vu is huge, and that is what you immediately notice the moment you hold it in your hand. The Galaxy Note II has a width of 80.5mm, while the Optimus Vu measures at just more than 90mm. The wide design does make it slightly uncomfortable while you hold the phone against the ear and talk. A Bluetooth should solve the problem.

Facebook ‘Like’ scam

If you look, you will find countless Facebook pages that have hundreds of thousands of likes and comments. But are these real? Some of the posts invite people to write a comment to see what happens. But predictably, nothing happens and this is all part of a large-scale Facebook scam.

These ‘stories’ then appear on newsfeeds and begin to resemble spam. The most common modus operandi for such Facebook scams is to attract people by getting their sympathy. This is easily achieved with images of sick children, wounded animals or details about some charitable organization.

Google Apps Users Can Now Get 24/7 Phone Support For Chrome

Google just announced that Google Apps for Business, Education and Government customers can now call and email the company with their questions about Chrome. Google, of course, has always been somewhat notorious for its lack of customer support options, but this is slowly changing. Last November, for example, the company announced that it would start offering 24/7 phone support for paying Apps for Business users. Starting today, Google Apps users can call and email Google for support with “Chrome installation, functionality, security, browser policy settings and Google Apps interoperability for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.”

The Politics Of Aakash

Datawind's proverbial tiger — better known as the Aakash tablet — seems to have increasingly taken on the qualities of an illusion. For those keeping a check, the release date was last stated to be October, without any further details being specified. By the likes of it, the HRD ministry wants to bring out the Aakash II on the same day as the original tab's launch a year ago. While those who paid in advance to own this piece of the sky are still waiting, politicians are busy taking digs at each other over the world's cheapest tablet.

Google Adding Support for Do Not Track in Chrome

While the controvercy surrounding Do Not Track (DNT) in Internet Explorer, and its handling by the Apache server is still fresh, there is some good news from Google.
Google Chrome till now has not implemented the Do Not Track option that all other browsers have implemented—even Internet Explorer—by now. Google Chrome has held out for this long, but soon it too will be adding the option.

Bing Vs Google — Don't Bother Comparing

Earlier this month, a Microsoft contest called BingItOn encouraged people to try out Bing vs Google in the same window — and decide which was better. Microsoft's claim was that the overall Bing:Google win ratio is 2:1. Our claim is that a comparison is pointless.
People quite enjoy comparing search results in an "objective" way, then pronouncing "The Best" across parameters. Less objective people simply root for their personal favourite in the same way they root for sports teams — which the folks at Bing noticed, and thought up the BingItOn contest. The event has brought in some PR for Microsoft — good and bad — and it's invited quite a bit of commentary (objective as well as just-for-fun). But here's why (IMHO) there's either no question of, or no need for, a comparison:

Nintendo sees next opportunity for Wii success in Latin America, Eastern Europe

"We will continue to sell the Wii," Nintendo America president and CEO Reggie Fils-Aime told investors today in a Q&A followup to the company's big Wii U event in New York City. "In the US, the Wii has sold about 40 million units. We believe that there continues to be an opportunity with the Wii." However, where Fils-Aime sees the most opportunity may not be where you expect. "I'm responsible for Canada, and Latin America as well," he said. "We think there's opportunity in both of those markets, especially Latin America." The Wii is currently offered by Nintendo in North America, Asia, Australia, and Europe, but not Latin America. The Wii ranges from $140 to $250, depending on what it comes with.

Advertisement revenue provides a significant portion of the funding for most privately owned television networks. The vast majority of television advertisements today consist of brief advertising spots, ranging in length from a few seconds to several minutes (as well as program-length infomercials). Advertisements of this sort have been used to promote a wide variety of goods, services and ideas since the dawn of television. The effect of commercial advertisements upon the viewing public has been successful and pervasive.

Touchscreen Mobile Phones

A touchscreen is an electronic visual display that can detect the presence and location of a touch within the display area. The term generally refers to touching the display of the device with a finger or hand. Touchscreens can also sense other passive objects, such as a stylus. The touchscreen has two main attributes. First, it enables one to interact directly with what is displayed, rather than indirectly with a cursor controlled by a mouse or touch pad. Secondly, it lets one do so without requiring any intermediate device that would need to be held in the hand. Such displays can be attached to computers, or to networks as terminals. They also play a prominent role in the design of digital appliances such as the personal digital assistant (PDA), satellite navigation devices, mobile phones, and video games.

Low Cost Airline In India

An airline provides air transport services for passengers or freight. Airlines lease or own their aircraft with which to supply these services and may form partnerships or alliances with other airlines for mutual benefit. Generally, airline companies are recognized with an air operating certificate or license issued by a governmental aviation body. Retail Stores

Retailing may include subordinated services, such as delivery. Purchasers may be individuals or businesses. In commerce, a "retailer" buys goods or products in large quantities from manufacturers or importers, either directly or through a wholesaler, and then sells smaller quantities to the end-user. Retail establishments are often called shops or stores. Retailers are at the end of the supply chain. Manufacturing marketers see the process of retailing as a necessary part of their overall distribution strategy. The term "retailer" is also applied where a service provider services the needs of a large number of individuals, such as a public utility, like electric power.

Online Daily Deals Websites

One deal a day is a web-based business model in which a single type of product is offered for sale for a period of 24 hours. Certain sites sell items uniquely by this method. Other established retailers, such as Amazon.com and Buy.com feature a "deal a day" item in addition to more conventional sales methods.

::Daily deal website offer a variety of product and services::

There has been a huge increase in the use of online shopping by people all over the world. That is because it caters to people from all different age groups and all kinds of tastes. Buying stuff over the internet is amazingly convenient and all you have to do is click on the mouse a few times. Shopping on the internet is extremely fast too. In a matter of minutes you can get exactly what you need. You will always find what you need on the internet because if one website doesn’t have the supply, another one will for sure.

Non Stick Cookware

This cookware is specially treated or coated to prevent foods from sticking. The special finishes permit the elimination of the fat usually required to lubricate cooking surfaces, and generally can be easily cleaned without scrubbing. The processes used to create the nonstick finish vary; some finishes can flake or scratch over time or if used with metal utensils. (Although some manufacturers claim that their cookware is completely scratch-resistant.) In general nonstick finishes should not be subjected to the high heat of broilers; manufacturers generally recommend a maximum temperature. Most nonstick cookware is dishwasher safe, but read the manufacturers’ use instructions before cooking with and washing any nonstick cookware.

Cookware refers to the specially designed cooking containers used on the stove top or range. In general, it is distinguished from bake ware, which is containers used for baking, like cookie sheets and pie plates. But containers for foods that goes in the oven, but do not have flour as an important ingredient, such as a roasting pan, Dutch oven, or grain dish, may be considered cookware, rather than bake ware. Also, cookware does not include the tools and utensils used in food preparation.

Online Ads

Online advertising is a form of promotion that uses the Internet and World Wide Web for the expressed purpose of delivering marketing messages to attract customers. Examples of online advertising include contextual ads on search engine results pages, banner ads, Rich Media Ads, Social network advertising, interstitial ads, online classified advertising, advertising networks and e-mail marketing, including e-mail spam.

Online advertising is simply advertising that is done over the Internet. For those interested in such a strategy, there are a number of options and some have found a way to advertise online through things that do not appear to be traditional advertising mediums. While the effects of online advertising are still being studied, it is a rapidly-growing segment of the advertising dollar.

Pain Relieving Cream

Pain relieving cream is a topical analgesic cream that is intended to relieve muscle and joint pain associated with arthritis, backaches, knee pain, shoulder pain, tendinitis, strains, sprains, and bruises. Initially created for professional athletes to enhance performance, it is promoted as a daily topical pain relief cream. Its producers also claim that the product can be used as a pre-activity cream that loosens muscles and joints, and a post-activity cream that alleviates body aches. Flex-power's characteristics include a non-offensive medicinal smell, gradual heating sensation and its use of nanotechnology.

People use these topical pain relief creams for many different conditions. Muscle aches, muscle pain, arthritic joint pain, sports injuries such as sprains and strains, chronic conditions like carpal tunnel, TMJ, back pain, neck pain and so forth.

Debit Card

A debit card is a plastic card issued by banks to customers. The card allows instant purchase, removing the correct balance from the user’s attached bank account. Debit cards are distinct from credit cards in that they allow purchase based on available funds in the account to be deducted immediately, instead of by using a line of credit that can be repaid at a later time.

Most debit cards have two features: the ability to purchase items at stores that have automated debit or credit card machines, and the ability to withdraw cash from your bank account at an automatic transaction machine (ATM). They are available in most countries of the world, and have nearly supplanted the use of checks in the United States. However, the cards possess many dangers to the user, both in terms of possible identity theft and unexpected bank fees. Most forms of debit card require a personal identification number (PIN) as a security feature. When removing money from an ATM or using an automatic purchasing machine at a store, the user will have to enter their PIN for verification. In online purchases, the PIN is usually not required, but users will often need to enter the three or four digit security code listed on the back of the card. Additional safety measures common for debit cards include a photograph of the card’s owner on the front, or an electronically reproduced customer signature imprinted on the card.

Microwave Oven

A microwave oven, or simply a microwave, is a kitchen appliance that cooks or heats food by dielectric heating. This is accomplished by using microwave radiation to heat polarized molecules within the food. This excitation is fairly uniform, leading to food being more evenly heated throughout (except in dense objects) than generally occurs in other cooking techniques.

Basic microwave ovens heat foods quickly and efficiently, but do not brown or bake food in the way conventional ovens do. This makes them unsuitable for cooking certain foods, or to achieve certain culinary effects. Additional kinds of heat sources can be added to microwave packaging, or into combination microwave ovens, to add these additional effects.

Mobile Phone

A mobile phone, cell phone or hand phone is an electronic device used to make mobile telephone calls across a wide geographic area, served by many public cells, allowing the user to be mobile. By contrast, a cordless telephone is used only within the range of a single, private base station, for example within a home or an office. A mobile phone can make and receive telephone calls to and from the public telephone network which includes other mobiles and fixed-line phones across the world. It does this by connecting to a cellular network provided by a mobile network operator. In addition to telephony, modern mobile phones also support a wide variety of other services such as text messaging, MMS, e-mail, Internet access, short-range wireless communications (infrared, Bluetooth), business applications, gaming and photography. Mobile phones that offer these more general computing capabilities are referred to as smart phones. The first handheld mobile phone was demonstrated by Dr. Martin Cooper of Motorola in 1973, using a handset weighing 2 kg. In 1983, the DynaTAC 8000x was the first to be commercially available. In the twenty years from 1990 to 2010, worldwide mobile phone subscriptions grew from 12.4 million to over 4.6 billion, penetrating the developing economies and reaching the bottom of the economic pyramid. The WHO released a report on 31 May 2011 classifying cell phone radiation as a "carcinogenic hazard."

Internet Services

Correct use of sockets is only part of network communicating programs. Once you have a way for two programs to talk, you still need a protocol for communication. This protocol lets each party know when to talk, and it precisely defines who is responsible for which part of the service. Even something as relatively simple as connecting to a remote computer requires intricate negotiations between client and server and has numerous dynamically configurable options. If you had to write the Perl code to implement these protocols each time you wanted to use a network service, you'd probably end up writing a lot of buggy programs, try to get demoted into a management position, or both. Fortunately, CPAN has modules for these protocols. Most modules implement the client side of the protocol rather than the server side. This means your program can use these modules to send mail, but not to be a mail server that other clients connect to; to read and post news, but not be a news server that other clients connect to; to transfer files to and from an FTP server, but not to be an FTP server that other clients connect to; and so on.
